The UPRTOU University is one of the public state universities of the utter Pradesh state. The university is also known as utter Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University. The university is situated in the Allahabad city of the utter Pradesh state. The name of the university was given in the honor of the Purushottam Das Tandon. The university is spread in a large area of land in the utter Pradesh state. The university was established in the year 1998 by the act of the government of the utter Pradesh state.

The university is recognized by the university grant commission (UGC), accredited by the all India council of technical education (AICTE) and distance education council (DEC). Many different colleges of the utter Pradesh state are affiliated with the university. The university is providing education facilities for both the under graduation and post graduation courses to the many students. The university is providing these courses in many different departments.

In India, in the state Uttar Pradesh , there was a university was established on  March 24,1 999. This university is also known as the Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon University. This is a totally granted university on govt . The university name came after the Bharat Ratna Rajarshi Purusottam Das Tandon Ji who was developing the Hindi as a Nation Language.  He sacrifices him for our nation to develop and make it independent . This is a famous university of the state which was situated in Allahabad. This university wants a rapid development in every field of higher studies.

This is a large university which has 5 regional centers  and it  has 90 departments for different degree courses and 400 institutions is many states across the Utter Pradesh. The university is recognized  by the university grant commission (UGC), AICTE , DEC.  The university has first degree courses, Post graduation degree course, general diploma course, Vocation course, Computer programming course  and many more. The main departments are maths, research, environmental science, commerce, microbiology, law, engineering etc.
