The UPRTOU University is one of the public state universities of the utter Pradesh state. The university is also known as utter Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University. The university is situated in the Allahabad city of the utter Pradesh state. The name of the university was given in the honor of the Purushottam Das Tandon. The university is spread in a large area of land in the utter Pradesh state. The university was established in the year 1998 by the act of the government of the utter Pradesh state.
The university is recognized by the university grant commission (UGC), accredited by the all India council of technical education (AICTE) and distance education council (DEC). Many different colleges of the utter Pradesh state are affiliated with the university. The university is providing education facilities for both the under graduation and post graduation courses to the many students. The university is providing these courses in many different departments.
