The West  Bengal University  of Health Science (WBSHU)  was a famous university in health and science environment.  This university was established in 2003 for better management of health and management education.  The University started its functioning  after passing the West Bengal Legislative assembly . This is the largest university which has all the medical departments for the students. The West Bengal University has a vision to foster and develop an intellectual climate conducive to the pursuit of scholarship and excellence.

The University has a homeopathic system of medicine, training and research in modern system of medicine , Ayurvedic system of medicine , Unani system of medicine , Nursing education, pharmacy education etc. The university has many affiliated colleges throughout the state. The  health science university has MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BPT all degrees in all affiliated colleges.

There is  a huge amount of number students are taking admission in all the affiliated colleges of this university . The all degree courses are done in 5 years. The exams are successfully conducted.
