INTEL to Launch SSD

Intel to launch 313 Series Caching SSDs for Ivy Bridge

Intel is on the way of releasing its latest 313 SSD caching series that is based on 25 nm SLC NAND flash memory. It will be replacing the Larson Creek series, also called as 311 series. The new series is designed for the new 7-series chipset of Ivy Bridge. It also maintains backward compatibility with the existing 6-series chipsets.



Henceforth Intel will offer two capacities with the series – the 20 GB and 24 GB. With the 311 series only 20 GB was offered. Well, it is not clear why the extra 4 GB. We need to wait and see because Intel may have added it for a reason.

The 311 series will keep utilizing a SATA 3.0 Gb/s interface. It will be for mSATA form factors or 2.5-inch. The later will be 7 mm tall where as in the 311 series it is 9 mm. It is learned that most SSD manufacturers will be decreasing the SSD sizes for getting fitted into Ultrabooks.

The 20 GB model is priced at $99, and the 24 GB will cost $119.

Nokia Siemens is learned to be unveiling HSPA+ Multiflow technology at the event. It is a technology that will allow a cell phone to talk to two towers at once.

The HSPA+ Multiflow technology means that when your phone is located near to the mobile base station edge, it can also connect simultaneously to the neighboring second base to enable data transfer second path.
According to the company, this new technology will make more efficient use of resources of the networks in delivering twice the data speed.

Wi-Fi Radio & Atom CPU on single chip: Intel’s research

It is time for Intel to step out of the competition from AMD and Nvidia. Current research project of the chip giant is doing so. Dubbed Rosepoint, the engineers at Intel now have managed to bring together digital 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi radio and low-power Atom CPU in a single chip.



It may sound simple, but bringing the low-power Atom CPU and WiFi radio isn’t easy. Intel has not only punched the two in one, but has also figured out how to eliminate radio wave emissions, which may cause interference between the CPU and WiFi. The final researched chip also increases the power efficiency.
Currently the chip is in research stage. By year 2015 it is believed to be invading the laptops.

Intel goes a step further. It is also trying to place radio antennas into it. Need to wait to hear more from Intel.

HP launches Intel Xeon processors

HP launches all - in - one workstation run on Intel Xeon processors

HP launches HP Z1, one of the first all-in-one workstations in the world, running on Intel Xeon processors and Nvidia Quadro graphics. It also features remote graphics software.



More interesting feature of the Workstation AIO is that its display snaps open similar to the hood of a car so that parts can be easily swapped out by users for making any upgrade. It does not require any tool for this.
General Manager of Nvidia’s Professional Solutions Group Jeff Brown said the company has joined with HP to rescue workstation from its tower. He added that the new HP Z1 gives truly spectacular and first all-in-one workstation in the industry.

The product is not yet made available. It may make its debut by next quarter, says HP workstation channels.

 

 

Google Ventures Android Glasses

Google may soon come up with a pair of reality glasses that will run on Android. Yes, you heard it right – Android on glasses.



New York Times reported very recently that later this year such glasses is to be released for about $250 to $600 that can display information through the glasses for the wearer.

According to the published report by the newspaper, these yet to be launched glasses is suppose to have built-in low-resolution camera that will see according to the wearer view and then overlay information about friends and buildings that the wearer sees.

Of course a bit like the Terminator movies. Cool.

The glasses, however, are not meant for regular wearing. Moreover, Google is not trying to see any business with it right now as it is still in an experimental phase.
