A few hours ago, we reported that a new ROM named CleanROM 5.0 is out for the Samsung Galaxy S3 and now the folks over at XDA-Developers forum has reported a new custom ROM named X-bean ROM for the Samsung Galaxy S Model number GT-i9000.
The unknown member of XDA forums has updated the X-bean ROM which brings android 4.1.2 Jellybean features along with the most popular custom ROM CyanogenMod 10 and AOSP as well.
Note : Please don’t use it on any other phone or model except the Samsung Galaxy S GT-i9000.Things to Remember
- Make a backup of your apps, data, contacts and everything you consider important using contacts backup, titanium backup apps.
- Make sure that your phone is charged fully.
- Please disable all antivirus softwares from your phone as well as block firewall from your PC or MAC.
- Make sure you have the ClockworkMod Recovery installed on your phone.
How to Install X-bean ROM on Samsung Galaxy S GT-i9000
Step 1 : Download the Required Files from below :-- X-Bean v3.0 (link)
- Landscape Fix (link)
Step 3 : Now Restart your phone in the ClockworkMod Recovery. To do so,
Press and Hold the Volume Up, Home and Power key till the screen turns on again. To move around the menu you can use the Volume Up and Down keys while to select the option you need to press the Power button.Step 4 : Now Select the Wipe data/Factory Reset your phone.
Step 5 : In the next step, choose ‘Advanced’ from the menu and then select ‘Wipe Dalvik cache’ and select for the process to continue.
Step 6 : From the main menu select ‘Install ZIP from SD Card’ >‘Choose ZIP from SD Card’. Locate the fileX-Bean 3.0.zip and flash/install it onto your device.
Step 7 : Flash the landscape_fix.zip file in the same manner as done with the X-Bean package. Allow the process to complete.
Step 8 : Once done, return to the main menu by selecting ‘Go Back’. From there, select ‘Reboot system now’.
