The Army college of Dental Sciences, Secunderabad announces the entrance test for admission to the Bachelor of Dental Surgery for 2013-14 Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) The Army college of Dental Sciences from Secunderabad has announced for the entrance test for admission to the Master of Dental Surgery for 2013 candidates are required to submit the application form alongwith copy of neet  application form immediately and subsequently submit  the neet merit card after declaration of neet results mmediately without fail,  Army College of Dental Sciences, Secunderabad has been established under the aegis of Army Welfare Education Society as a Centre of Excellence for Dental education.  The College aims at imparting a high standard of dental education coupled with the development of good moral character for the children of regular Army personnel/regular Army pensioners and war widows.  Army College of Dental Sciences, Secunderabad is affiliated to Dr NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada (A.P). The College has been Recognised by the Dental Council of India and Ministry of Health & Family Welfare vide their Gazette No 23 dated 9 Jun 2007 for an intake of 40.

Eligibility: 

No candidate shall be allowed to be admitted to the Dental Curriculum of Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) course until he/she has passed qualifying 

examination as under:-

(a) The higher secondary examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination which is equivalent to 10+2 Higher Secondary Examination after a 

period of 12 years study, the last two years of study comprising of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics or any other elective subjects with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council for Educational Research and Training after the introduction of the  10+2+3 years educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on education;

OR

(b) The Intermediate examination in science of an Indian University/Board or other recognized examining body with Physics, Chemistry and Biology which shall include a practical test in these subjects and also English as a compulsory subject.

OR

(c) The pre-professional/pre-medical examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology, after passing either the higher secondary school examination, or the Pre University or an equivalent Examination. The pre-professional/premedical examination shall include a practical test in Physics, Chemistry and Biology and also English as a compulsory subject.

OR

(d) The first year of the three years degree course of a recognized university with Physics, Chemistry and Biology including a practical test in three subjects provided the examination is a “university examination” and candidate has passed 10+2 with English at a level not less than a core course.

OR

(e) B.Sc examination of an Indian University, provided that he/she has passed the B.Sc examination with not less than two of the following subjects 

Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany, Zoology) and further that he/she has passed the earlier qualifying examination with the following subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.

OR

(f) Any other examination which, in scope and standard is found to be equivalent to the Intermediate science examination of an Indian University/Board, taking Physics, Chemistry and Biology including practical test in each of these subjects and English.

Age: The candidate should have completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete this age on 31st December of the year of his admission

MODE OF SELECTION FOR ADMISSION

The admission will be  strictly on merit ranking, based on marks obtained in NEET BDS 2013.

The merit list will be prepared based on the aggregate marks obtained by the candidates in the NEET.  

In case of vacant  seats due to certain candidates declining to join/not joining on due date, the vacancy so created will be offered to the candidate next in merit and so on.

Six seats will be filled from merit candidates  by Dr NTR University of  Health Sciences, Vijayawada (A.P).

Counseling of eligible candidates at ACDS Secunderabad:-

(i) First Counseling (1 to 60 )   :  19 Jul 2013

(ii) Second Counseling (61 to 120)               :  25 Jul 2013

(If vacancy exists after 1st counseling)

Physical Joining of selected candidates at ACDS Secunderabad :  30 Jul 2013

Commencement of  BDS Course at  ACDS Secunderabad  :  01 Aug 2013
