UG/PG/Professional Courses Admission-2013

At the postgraduate level, only a limited number of courses are open for direct admissionsSSSIHL offers several courses for admissions undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional programmes

The remaining postgraduate courses are integrated programmes whereby students graduating in certain undergraduate programmes automatically qualify for masters programmes, provided they get the required cumulative grade point average (CGPA) at the undergraduate level

Programmes for Women

Undergraduate Programmes (3 years): B.A., B.Com (Hons), BBM, B.Sc Home Science, B.Sc (Hons) Mathematics/Physics/Chemistry, B.Sc (Hons) Biosciences (leading to a postgraduate programme)
Postgraduate Programmes (2 years): M.A. (English Language and Literature), M.Sc (Food Science and Nutrition), M.Sc (Food Technology)
Professional Programmes (1 year): B.Ed, M.Ed

Programmes for Men

Undergraduate Programmes (3 years): B.A., B.A. (Hons) Economics, B.Sc (Hons) Economics, B.Com (Hons) Leading to Master of Finance, BBM, BCA, B.Sc (Hons) Mathematics/Physics/Chemistry/ Biosciences (leading to postgraduate programmes in respective subject)
Postgraduate Programmes (2 years): M.A. Economics, M.Sc Nanoscience and Nanotechnology
Professional Programmes (2 years): MBA, MBA (Finance), M.Tech (Computer Science, Optoelectronics and Communications, Analytical Methods and Chemical Instrumentation, Nuclear Medicine)
Eligibility: For all the programmes minimum marks are required, candidates belonging to SC/ST are entitled to a relaxation of 5% marks
Undergraduate Programmes: Candidates should have completed 10+2 or 12 years of schooling of a recognized board or CBSE, or equivalent thereof
Candidates should have either passed or appeared for the final qualifying examination at the XII standard level before the date of admission test
At the X standard level, the candidate should have secured minimum of 55% marks in General English, and minimum of 60% marks in aggregate in all the subjects including General English and languages
Candidates who fall marginally short of the requirement may be considered for admission test, provided they have secured in the XI standard minimum of 55% marks in General English and minimum of 60% marks in aggregate in all the subjects including General English and languages
The candidate should preferably be below 19 years of age as on 31st May of the year of admission
Postgraduate Programmes (including B.Ed/M.Ed): The candidates should have had formal education for a minimum of 15 years, (10+2+3) pattern or any other pattern recognized as equivalent thereto by the university
The candidates should have passed or appeared for the final qualifying examination at the Bachelor’s degree level before the date of admission test
Candidates who have passed the final qualifying examination must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in General English and 60% marks in aggregate of all subjects
If CGPA is awarded, the eligibility is 3.5 and above in a 5 point-scale grading with ‘B’ grade in General English
Candidates who have appeared for the final qualifying examination but whose results have not yet been declared are also eligible to apply, provided they have secured a minimum of 50% marks in General English and a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate in all the preceding years/semesters put together; or ‘B’ grade in General English and a GPA of 3.5 and above in all the preceding semesters/years put together
In the B.Ed programme, the Institute offers teaching methodology in the following subjects only; English, History, Civics, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology
Only those candidates who have studied any two of the above subjects in their qualifying degree should apply
They will have to appear for admission test also in the same subjects
