New Year
A new year means ending of a year and starting of a new refreshing year with lots of hopes. On this 31st December , we will be saying goodbye to year 2012 and welcome a brand new year 2013.
New Year is the time at which a new calendar year begins and the calendar year count is incremented. In every country and in all cultures , NEW YEAR is celebrated in some manner.
The New Year of the Gregorian calendar, today in worldwide use, falls on 1 January, as was the case with the Roman calendar. There are numerous calendars that remain in regional use that calculate the New Year differently.
People all over the world celebrate new year eve with a great enthusiasm . They party all night n wish each other a very happy new year.When the clock strikes 12 on December, 31st, people shout loudly “HAPPY NEW YEAR”. Wow! Celebrating the new year is a great fun.
January 1is the first day of new year but it had a long journey of ups and downs before it became accepted as the first day of the year in the modern calendar format.Today however, January 1 is internationally accepted as the beginning of New Year although many parts of the world have their separate New Year celebrations in different times of the year.
The new year has a different meaning for everyone .For some, the new year is no more than a change of a calender but for others, this event symbolizes the beginning of a better tomorrow. There is a custom of making resolutions on 1st Jan, but people hardly follow their resolutions.
