The BU is a state university of Madhya Pradesh state. The BU university is known as Barkatullah University. The university was established in the year 1970. In the starting of the university establishment the university name was the Bhopal University then in the year 1988 the Bhopal university name changed to Barkatullah University. The university main office or headquarter is situated in the capital of Madhya Pradesh state, Bhopal. The university campuses are situated in the seven different districts in the Madhya Pradesh state. Those seven districts are Bhopal, Sehore, Vidisha, Raisen, Betul, Hoshangabad, Harda and Rajgrah.
