Government of West Bengal established a university is Kolkata is known as the West Bengal University of Technology. The West Bengal University of Kolkata is a center of excellence in multidisciplinary science and technology . This university is also known as the WBTU and this is a public university . The WBTU was coming under the expert committee of govt of Bengal on December 31, 1998. Mr. Ashesh Pradas Mitra handled the chairmen ship and develop the best university in Bengal.
The WBTU is a large university in the which has a lot of colleges are affiliated to it. The university has many departments for the under graduation and post graduation degree courses. The university is recognized by the university grant commission and Minister of HRD . The departments are arts, science, commerce, maths, engineering, research, biology, management, education development etc. The university has a lot of students are enrolled in it.

WBTU has a large library system in which all kinds of academic books and research books are available. The university conducts the exams every year for each degree course. The exams are successfully conducted . The students are waiting for their results. The university declares the results in August. The result will be shown on the official website at www.wbut.net.
