The Vikram University is a public state university of the Madhya Pradesh state. The university is situated in the Ujjain city of the Madhya Pradesh state. The university was established in the year 1957 on 1^st march by the act of the government of the Madhya Pradesh state. The university is one of the oldest universities of Madhya Pradesh state.  The name of the university was given in the memory of a ruler vikramaditya. The university is spread in a large area of land in the Ujjain city.

The university is recognized by the university grant commission (UGC) and accredited by the national assessment and accreditation council (NAAC) with a good grade. The university is providing education facilities for both the under graduation and post graduation courses. The university is providing education facilities in many different departments.
