The Tamil Nadu board of education was established under the British ruler of govt. The Tamil Nadu Board of education is very oldest board of education. The Tamil Nadu Board of education came in 1919.  Mr. Thomas Munro was the founder of this board who was the Governor of Madras Province. There official language of this board is English. There are many public and private schools were affiliated with this board of education. There are many subject courses are provided at different level of study. The board has its headquarter in Chennai.

The Famous Tamil Nadu Board of education has many rules and regulation in their study pattern. Every year some new subject is added in every certification course. All the subject could have their own different pattern for taking the examination and all. There are nearly about 40 public and private were affiliated with this board of education.
