Only 16% Pass Central Teacher Eligibility Test Jan 2012
Time isn’t running that great for teaching aspirants; 94% of the applicants who took CTET ( Central Teacher Eligibility Test ) January 2012 couldn’t get 60% marks to get through the test. Mere 16% 0f 900,000 test takers managed to get through, the Paper I and Paper II tests are for primary and secondary teaching positions respectively.
Both papers are for 150 marks each, a candidate has to secure 60% to be considered CTET qualified, however SC / ST / OBC or PH candidates may get exemptions from Government, Local Bodies, Government aided and un – aided Schools.
Next CTET will be held in June 2012, the number of test takers are increasing session by session and year by year however the results are bleak. This isn’t any different from last year CTET when only 14% has managed to qualify the test.
