VIT University was established under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act, 1956, founded in 1984 as a self-financing Institution named as ‘Vellore Engineering College’.
In the year 2001, the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development has conferred University status and Vellore Engineering College has become ‘VIT University’.
VITEEE 2012 will be held on 21st April 2012 (Sunday); application forms are available offline and online. The last date for submitting the completed application forms is 29th February, 2012.
